Lizards and related lizards as geckos, anoles and basilisks are reptiles, very abundant and harmless, inhabiting all ecosystems, including dwelling houses. Small and fragile, they contribute to the biodiversity of forests where they meet niches for the control of minor species and insects. One of the basilisks called the Jesus Christ lizard crosses streams running over the water.
